At long last the Iron Man movie has arrived to the screen. I have
been awaiting for it for ages. Okay we have seen all the greats
Superman, Batman, Spiderman etc, but I feel Iron Man did not get its
fair share of attention.

About the Iron Man Game

Iron Man is one of Marvel's most indestructible Super Heroes and s
blasting onto video game platforms. The epic, action-packed Marvel
Studios production will be directed by John Favreau and stars Robert
Downey Jr., Jeff Bridges, Terrance Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow. This
third-person action game will immerse players in explosive
militaristic combat from the film with loads of additional content
created exclusively for the game.

Based on the comic book series and major motion picture from Marvel
Studios, Iron Man immerses gamers in hardcore shooting action and
explosive combat from the film. Exclusive content created just for
the game makes it even more interesting for those who want to know
more about the Iron Man story. With freedom to move anywhere in the
open world environment, customize your Iron Man suit, and seamlessly
transition between ground combat, and open air flight as you battle
against armies of fighter jets, tanks, armored Super Villains, and
more. You are a One Man Army. You are Iron Man

Features:

Become a Devastating Weapon: Iron Man alone battles armies of
fighter jets, military tanks, armored Super Villains, and more.
Beyond the Movie: The game includes additional plotlines and
characters from the Iron Man Comic Universe that are not featured in
the movie.

Open World: Players have complete freedom to move anywhere in the
environment and make seamless transitions between ground combat and
open air flight.

Power Control: Players will direct power to different parts of Iron
Man's suit, creating a variety of unique attacks.

Chaotic Battlefields: Open-ended battlefields create adrenaline-
packed combat filled with unpredictable challenges.

I will be seeing it in the cinema when its on and I will review it.
For your info I have added the playstation 2 game in the new
releases section.

When is Mothers Day? I get many people asking me when is mothers day
and it differs in country to country.

Mothers' Day in the United Kingdom and Ireland falls on the fourth
Sunday of Lent (exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday). The
United States celebrates Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May.

ABOUT MOTHERS DAY

Mother's Day is intended to be a day to celebrate motherhood. Many
churches and families in the United States recognize the second
Sunday in May to honor mothers.

Many years ago, England observed a day to honor mothers in mid-Lent
that was called Mothering Sunday. In the United Kingdom, Mothers'
Day is celebrated in March.

The first known suggestion of Mother's Day in the United States was
in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe. She suggested that people observe the
day on June 2 as a day dedicated to peace. Others around the country
campaigned for a Mother's Day including Mary Towles Sasseen, Frank
E. Hering, and Anna Jarvis. In 1908, Anna Jarvis of West Virginia
began a campaign for a nationwide observance of Mother's Day. She
chose the second Sunday in May and started the custom of wearing a
carnation. If a person wears a colored carnation, their mother is is
living. A white carnation signifies that their mother has passed
away.

In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a joint resolution of
Congress recommending that Congress and the executive branch of
government recognize the observance of Mother's Day.

Many celebrate Mothers day by giving a gift. Here is a resource that
can assist you:

Logic Pro 8 is the long awaited music software from Apple which
users have been waiting for a long time. The big questions is when
is the release date?

I have been waiting for Logic 8 for a long time and there are so
many features I'd like to see implemented.

Read my long list of features that I would like to see implemented.

http://www.dialashop.com/vic/logicpro.html

Logic 7 was a great update, but since Emagic sold it to Apple
progress has slowed downn alot. Anyway, I have made a page with lots
of ideas that I have been dreaming about it. I would defintely like
to see an EXSMKIII with more real instruments sounds. I find the
present piano not that good and the electric piano. The synth sounds
are fantastic. I would like to see a ES3 synth with a built in
arpegiattor.

I would also like to see more presets for mastering fx and a better
compressor and limiter.

One feature that I would love to get midi wise is to be able to
percentage quantize individual notes in the matrix editor.

I would also like to see more presets for mastering fx and a better
compressor and limiter. Anyway read my long list of features that I
would like to see implemented.

http://www.dialashop.com/vic/logicpro.html

I hope Apple are reading these forums and I hope they read my page.
I would like development to be more regualar it was in the Emagic
days and I would like it to continue to be the best audio midi
program. I have a funny feeling that Logic Pro 8 will come out after
Mac Os 10.5 Leopard comes out in late October or early November.

I am trying to put together a travel tips page. If you have any
ideas, please mention them. Also I updated the car rentals page:

http://www.dialashop.com/onlinetravel/carrental.html

Here are some of the ideas for the proposed page.

1. Watch your Wallet

When travelling abroad carry your wallet in the front left pocket.
Most people are right handed so pick pockets will tend to direct
their activities to the right pocket. Also in areas that lend
themselves to theft I often will use an old wallet in the back
pocket with nothing in it as a decoy.

2. Email yourself

Before you travel, always email yourself a copy of all important
travel information: airline numbers, credit card phone numbers,
passport and driving licence numbers. That way if your documents
and/or wallet is lost or stolen, all you need to do is log on to
access all your details.

3. Accidental Spills

Buy re-sealable food bags from the supermarket and use them to put
toiletries in when packing. This will save your clothes in your
suitcase from any leaks.

4. Protect your Photos

To safeguard your holiday snaps take a photograph of your address on
the first frame, then if they go astray you have the best chance of
getting them back.

5. Leave Expensive Things in Main Body of Bag

When packing your rucksack, try not to put any valuables in the
front or side pockets as it will be very easy for someone to rob
you. Instead put expensive things in the main body of the bag and
put things like dirty underwear in the pockets. That way if someone
does try to steal something, they'll get a nasty surprise!

Travel News - If you are travelling to Greece or have any friends
relatives in Greece on holidays, as you might have heard they are
having problems with fires. To make things worse there was an
earthquake.

I have written the full article in DAS.

http://www.dialashop.com/travelnews/index.html

The strong earthquake hit fire-ravaged southern Greece. The Athens
Geodynamic Institute says it had a magnitude of five. There were no
immediate reports of injuries or damage. The quake struck just after
noon and had an epicentre 185 kilometres west of Athens, 15
kilometres east of Pyrgos near Ancient Olympia. The quake panicked
residents in the region and was felt in areas where firefighters
were battling blazes.

Fighting the Fires in Greece

Foreign firefighters and aircraft joined in battling wildfires on
Tuesday that have burned nearly a half-million acres and killed 64
people in five days in what Greece's president called a "national
catastrophe."

The devastating blazes have infuriated Greeks — already stunned by
deadly forest fires in June and July — and appear likely to dominate
political debate before general elections scheduled for Sepember 16.
Many blamed the conservative government for failing to respond
quickly enough.

Firefighters themselves have also come under criticism as
disorganized and late to arrive. Some people also blamed a previous
government's decision in 1998 to transfer responsibility for
battling blazes from the forestry department to the national fire
department.

Subject: Cheap Airline Flights: Ryanair check-in desk fees
vic_stathopo...
Offline Offline

Ryanair is an airliner that promotes itself as a cheap fares
airliner. Well thats debatable.

Ryanair passengers are used to paying extra for the privilege of
eating food, checking in bags and even using a wheelchair. But now
they will have to pay just to get on the plane.

Ryanair is aiming to reduce the number of passengers using its check-
in desks by imposing a charge on people who do not check in online.

The airline said it would at the same time make its web check-in
service, which will include priority boarding, completely free. Web
check-in is available to passengers carrying only hand luggage.

Passengers using the online service were previously charged a fee of
€3 or £2. This fee will be scrapped from September 20, while
passengers who use airport check-in facilities will be charged at
the same amount.

Also from September 20, passengers who are not eligible for online
check-in can buy priority boarding online. The airline said this
move was aimed particularly at families.

Charges for checking in bags are common among low-cost operators and
British Airways has also adopted a bag checking-in charge. However,
the airport check-in charge is a ground-breaking tactic and other
airlines could adopt it if it proves a success. EasyJet said it had
no plans to introduce a check-in charge.

If you have any opinions on this topic, please leave a message.

Here is an article that maybe of use for buyers of toys.

Mattel recalls millions of toys over safety fear

Toy firm Mattel recalled nearly two million toys sold in Britain and
Ireland.

Some 49,000 of those are Chinese-made toy cars which may contain
excessive levels of lead paint.

Mattel is pulling another 1.9m Polly Pocket, Batman, Barbie and
other magnetic toys sold in Britain and Ireland because the magnets
may come loose.

The recall comes less than a fortnight after MatteI pulled 94,000
Fisher-Price toys from Ireland and Britain amid concerns about lead
in their paint.

The die-cast toy Cars character Sarge is being recalled following
Mattel's ongoing investigation into paint used on Fisher-Price toys
by a Chinese firm. Sarge toys made between May and July this year
were found to have "impermissible levels of lead," Mattel said. The
firm is recalling 436,000 of the toy cars globally, of which 253,000
are in the US and 49,000 are in Ireland and Britain.

Mattel has introduced a new checking system in the wake of problems
with paint used by Chinese firm Hong Li Da Plastic Cement Products
Facility. In addition, the firm is pulling 18.2m magnetic toys
globally because of fears that the magnets may come off.

In total, the magnet-related recall affects 69 products across the
Polly Pocket, Doggie Day Care, Batman and Barbie brands. All of the
recalled products were made between January 2002 and January 31 this
year.

The firm's chief executive, Robert Eckert, said: "The safety of
children is our primary concern, and we are deeply apologetic to
everyone affected.
"Mattel has rigorous procedures, and we will continue to be vigilant
and unforgiving in enforcing quality and safety."

The Mattel products recalled in Ireland and Britain are 53 types of
Polly Pocket toys, 11 Doggie Day Care toys, four Batman toys and the
accessory part of one Barbie toy.

The product recalled in Ireland and Britain due to concerns about
lead levels in the paint is a 2.5 inch die-cast Sarge car character
from the film Cars.

Travel News - European Airline tries to buy Aer Lingus

Many people enjoy buying cheap plane tickets when they can find them
online or offline. Ryanair, Europe's biggest low-cost operator made
a surprise cash offer to buy Ireland's Aer Lingus last Thursday.
Ryanair and Aer Lingus are the main airline operators from Ireland.
What would happend if they merged? Would it create a monopoly?

Who is Aer Lingus?

Aer Lingus is the national airline of Ireland. It is based in Dublin
and it operates over 30 aircraft serving Europe and USA. The airline
was floated on the Dublin and London Stock Exchanges on 2 October
2006 and the Irish government at present owns the 28% of the
company. Aer Lingus is a member of the oneworld airline alliance,
though has announced its intention to leave on 1 April 2007.

Competition in the airline business is needed. It will be
interesting to see what happens with the sale of Aer Lingus.

Dir Sir/ Madam,

You say you ordered "a Halloween costume from here over two weeks
ago, was told it would be at my house in about a week."

Has it yet arrived? Which company was it?

"They do not have a phone number."

Was this web site mentioned on dialashop? If so, email us and tell us
which one. If it was not mentioned in the main section, then the best
advice is to never order from a company that does not have an address
and telephone number.

If the web site is not on dialashop, then give us an email and I will
see if I can help. Please do it via contact info with dialshop on the
title.

"Now I will probably not have my costume by
the time I leave town for Michigan, where I am supposed to go to a
Halloween party. Not only may I be out the money I spent, but they
have ruined my Halloween."

Anyway, I hope everything went well for Halloween and good luck with

Newsletter No.6 - Date: Sunday 19th, May, 2002

Hi Everyone,

Summer has arrived and its time for us to find a cheap flight so we
can enjoy the lovely sun after a dreary winter.

- Travel
http://www.dialashop.com/onlinetravel/index.html

This page has been redesigned and has some of the best travel
websites on the internet. The best way to find a cheap flight is to
go through each link/banner individually. To help you, when you click
on a link/banner, the window pops up. If the travel web site is not
suitable then try the next one.

- Books
http://www.dialashop.com/bookbuy/index.html
The Books page has been re-written with descriptions and new
bookstores.

- Sports (Any Sports Fans out there?)
http://www.dialashop.com/sports/index.html
The World Cup(football/soccer) is approaching and perhaps you might
fancy a shirt? If you're a fan of David Beckham (husband of POSH from
the Spice Girls), then Umbro may interest you!

- Furniture
Do you own a house or plan to buy one? Then check out the new
furniture page.

- Auctions
http://www.dialashop.com/auction/index.html
The links have been updated!

- Gadgets
http://www.dialashop.com/buygadget/index.html
This page has been updated with new stores. Check out Othertoys, it
has remote-control aircraft and more.

Hi All,

At the moment, I am working on Dialashop.com's pages and I am trying
to find out if the general public prefer banners as links or would
extra text description be more useful? The gadget page has some text
description and the links. Is that better? What do you think?

http://www.dialashop.com/buygadget/index.html

On some page like the watches one, the product name and photos are
shown. If text is added then the page will become mega long.

http://www.dialashop.com/jewelry/watch.html

With the Health Shop page, the problem is what happens when it gets
too many sub-sections. It now has fragrances and contact lens. Is it
okay the way it is with the section links at the top?

http://dialashop.com/healthshop/index.html

Do you mind if the pages are mixed with USA and UK shopping sites or
would you prefer dedicated sections or should I just mention it in
the text on the pages?

If you have the time, I would love to read comments on how I can
improve dialashop.com.
