Welcome to the Associated Linguists of Oregon mailing list. ALO serves as a means of meeting other local (Oregon and Southern Washington) translators, interpreters, and T&I companies. We exchange professional and cultural information online. We hold periodic meetings where we discuss important topics such as: translation project management, ethics, assessing quality, public relations for the language industry, computer-aided translation, etc. The hope is that sharing our knowledge and experience will strengthen the local translation & interpretation industry and, ultimately, improve our own interactions with (potential) clients.
