Switching to TDD   Topic List   < Prev Topic  |  Next Topic >

Hi everyone,

I just got a new job at a dot com considering switching to agile
development and part of my job description as Build and Test engineer
is to help with the process. I am afraid, that just writing unit
tests, what I will be supposed to do without applying TDD is pretty
much useless and won't bring the expected higher quality.

Do you have any ideas how can I convince and show them that the old
code and fix approach just won't work even with a bunch of integration
tests and TDD is the way to go

I would appreciate any tips and ideas.

Regards

Whom do you have to convince? Business folks? VP/Director level? Other developers? Technical team lead? The tactics are different depending on the audience. ...

Keep in mind that switching to TDD could also mean significant changes in application architecture as well. If your old code is tightly coupled and has lots...

This is a big reason why I suggest team code review/refactoring sessions. Writing tightly coupled code can be a hard habit to break....

You might also try asking your question the agiletesting group (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/agile-testing/), as they are very focused on testing in an...
