Description

At the nearing end of the 19th Century an elderly Egyptian peasant
lady was digging through the sands of an area known today as Amarna.
As she dug she unearthed dozens of clay tablets with strange
inscriptions upon them. It was not of Egyptian Hieroglyphs but of
Hieratic, a less-important Egyptian alphabet. What she found among
the sands in mid-Egypt changed the course of our understanding of
Ancient Egyptian history forever. Great missing-links in that history
were now to be filled up but till this day the entire frieze is not
complete. A fascinating and turbulent period of Egyptian history was
about to be told to the world . . . .
