My February DDJ Newsletter, entitled "Agile CMMI?",
summarizes some of the results from a survey that we
did in January 2008. The CMMI portion of the survey
explored whether organizations were trying agile
approaches which were CMMI compliant (many were) and
how well that was working. We found that non-CMMI
teams were slightly more productive than CMMI agile
teams, although statistically the results were the
same.
Anyway, the survey seems to shed some light regarding
the Agile and CMMI issue. My hope is that this will
help to motivate some researchers to explore this
issue further.
