Hi,
First of all I'm sorry that I seem to have caused some offense. I
didn't mean lamer in an offensive way. I probably haven't used that
word since I left the scene (around 1993 I think). Back then my
local contacts and I would call each other lamers! So just trying to
relive my old scene days. I remember meeting you on at least one
occasion but I really don't remember it too well as it was like ten
years ago. On the scene I was "Detinator" of several different
crews, none of them that successful really but I had fun. My crews
were Damage, Chaos, Destiny, Eclipse. Later towards the end of my
scene career if you like, I was known as "Real" and started a UK
division of Infect. Due to lack of enthusiasm in the crew (this was
a bunch of guys from Eclipse that I'd had a great time hanging out
with for a good couple of years), the Infect UK group came to an
abrupt end. I guess we'd all got tired of it all and started to move
onto other things - college, girls, etc...
I really enjoyed my time on the scene and got to know a great bunch
of people all over the world. I often look back on my scene days and
wonder what happened to the people I used to know. Hell, I even have
all my old letters from contacts - a huge stack! I will never forgot
the inspiration I got from seeing all the masterpieces of demos -
from clever tiny intros to larger works of art, and my main passion
at the time - tracked music. So I saw this yahoo group and wondered
if I would be able to get in touch with some of my old contacts and
scene-friends. I don't appear to have made a good start!
Since you mentioned what you're up to now, I'll tell you what I'm
doing (and for those who may be interested if any) I work as a
programmer in Sweden. (I am originally from the UK) We're working
on positioning for 3G mobile phones.
Best wishes,
Ric
PS: I also edited Majic 12's Top Secret magazine for a bit. Anyone
remember Top Secret?
