I just realized that I started this group back in August, 1998. I can *not*
believe it has been
10 years already. Yeah, list traffic has died down a ton since then, but it is
pretty neat to look
through the archives and read some of this stuff.

Is anyone on this list still interested in Amiga stuff? Should I be more
proactive in getting
traffic here? This list is for *you* - what all would you like?

The GP2X Wiz and Pandora units will open up the face of homebrew games,
one is a pure Gaming console, with hundreds of emulators written for,
the other is a console/UMPC

Is there any love for this game? I rememeber when the original Kick
Off came out...what a breath of fresh air! (I only had Kenny
Dalglish's soccer match before that! lol).
But Kick Off 2 and Player Manager was stunning games! ahhh, the
rivalries between this and Sensible Soccer eh?

If truth be told I gravitated over to SWOS because thats where the
newer updates were coming from, but last year I found out that people
still play Kick Off 2!

www.ko-gathering.com

They'v also ironed out some of the more stupid bugs, whilst still
keeping the classic playability. Not sure if its nostalgia, but
playing this with its fast pace and lush green pitch...I dunno, newer
games just leave me cold!

As I said, I only joined the forum last year but already I'v made a
load of friends. I'v even attended a few tournaments - mostly in
Birmingham and Reading area.

Would be great if some fans are here so we can talk about the classic
game. Its even possible to have a 2 player online, but local
tournaments round peoples houses are where the actions at. Pizza,
Booze and Excitement - there's even an online rankings system in
place, so if you ever fancied yourself the No.1 KO2 player...well, now
is your chance to actually prove it.

Dont hesitate to go on the site above...in Birmingham on 3rd to 4th
May, there's even a huge UK Championship where people from every year
of the UK will be converging to play not to mention the World Cup that
takes place every year :)

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone here knew where to find a newer version of
Apache for the Amiga bundled with PHP? I found:

http://wuarchive.wustl.edu/~aminet/dirs/comm_www.html

and

http://ftp.back2roots.org/aminet/comm/www/Apache_1.3.12.readme

but I need a newer PHP version [and also Apache]. Found a lot of links via
google, but they're all 404. :(

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Amiga Folks,

Is there somebody who could tell me how I could transfer all the
files on my Amiga HD to my PC. I want to do a ghost (like pc norton
ghost) of my amiga drive on my pc burner. Just to make that I won't
spend weeks to set it up again if somethiings fails.

Here's my setup:

    A2000, Fusion40(accelarator), SCSI HD 1 gig
PC, PII 200 MMX, SCSII HD, IDE CD Burner (Nero)

A clue ?

If CrossDos helps, I am not sure wich version I have, may be I could
find the rigth version if I needs it.

Thanks Folks,

Carlito From Montréal!

I am selling a vintage computer collection that I have been working
on for almost 10 years. It contains many computers from many
different companies that span the late '70s, 80's, and early
'90s.
All systems come with original software, manuals, books, magazines,
videos, keyboards, monitors, mice, etc...

I have also tried to collect very interesting and rare items
including an original 1978 Apple II Reference Book from Apple, twin
Macintosh 512ks with some fantastic accessories, a complete TRS-80
Pocket II Computer, twin Amiga 1000s, and many other items.

If you're a fan of Commodore, Apple, Macintosh, Amiga, TRS-80,
Timex, etc...you'll at least want to browse my pages for a trip down
memory lane.

I'm asking: $575.00 OBO

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

You can go to http://www.mmhart.com/Collection.htm for more
information, pictures, etc...

Thanks!

Anybody know how to test the onboard RAM on a WarpEngine 040? (in a
late-model A4000 with RetinaZ3,VLab-Motion & Tocatta cards)

Years ago the simm retaining clips on 3 of the slots were broken forcing me to
use the hot-glue-gun method of keeping the simms in place. This method
worked great for more than 5 years. Simm 1's slot still has its clips. There
are
3 32MB and 1 16 MB simms on board. The Warp scsi still works fine.

Everything was Ok up until summer of 2001 when I had to move the Amiga,
and couldn't use it for a number of months. You know how the machine sticks
to the desk when it's in the same place for a long time, well I had to force it
loose which probably shook up the simms and loosened their connection. In
early 2002 I hooked up the machine to find that the WE simms were not being
recognized. I have tried to re-glue them a couple of times but to no avail.
The
only FAST RAM that is recognized is the 10 MB on the motherboard. In an
unrelated act, earlier this year I replaced the battery.

The last time I tried gluing them the simm slots seemed looser than before. It
seems like the "springiness" that held them tightly in place is gone. Is this a
sign that something fundamental has broken down?

Can anyone give me a lead? I sure would like to get this running again. This
was one of those machines built "on a Wednesday" when everyone at the
factory was awake...it was a great computer!

Having it in .rom format is easy. I've not seen it in .adf, though I'm sure it
can be done, somehow. You might be able to find something in IRC, there's a
couple of goof channels there.

Hi Rolando,

You need a disk/program known as Kickstart 1.3 it effectively loads the older
boot ROM into the computer's RAM. You'll need to find either the disc second-
hand or if you email me your postal address I can send you a copy.

You load the Kickstart disc first, the program loads and then the system
restarts with the 1.3 boot screen. Don't worry - it's not permanent, switching
your computer off will rid you of it and you'll be back to normal.
Once you've got the old boot screen, just insert your game disc as normal and
the game will load.
Some older games do not work with AGA either (if you've got an Amiga A1200 or
A4000). You can disable AGA temporarily by reseting your computer by press Ctrl
(Control) and the two Amiga keys. Then hold down both mouse buttons while it
restarts - the computer will then take you to the boot menu which should be
self explanatory.

Any problems just post back here.

Best regards,
mikaveli@...
