> ## RAM Configuration
I think it depends on the laptop you have. Mine works fine with
2x512MB (CY26) SD-RAM (hynx or something like that)

again this depends on what model you have. As for mine, I persume any
CPU with 266Mhz FSB will do. The most important value is: TDP
(=Thermal Design Power), as the heat-sink + fan are very bad.
If you look at this table:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Athlon_XP_microprocessors
I wouldn't try any higher than this: Athlon XP-M 2400+ 1800 MHz
512 KiB 266 MT/s 13.5x 1.35 AXMD2400FJQ4C

Unfortunately FSC seems to have a very bad general linux support. The
laptops are really unprofessionally made and truly according to their
prices - noticeable especially when trying to find spare-parts that
cost more, than buying a new laptop.
> I think thinkpad is a good option , can you confirm ?
Since almost a year I am using a thinkpad t41 (except for now, after
spilling coffee on it, I have to use my good old cy26 again ;)) - the
linux support ist great, everything works under ubuntu (since hardy,
even better support on intrepid). Spare parts (like new heatsink +
cooler) are cheap. So I am really happy to have one.
