The embedded map feature works fine for me in Firefox 2.0.0.4 under
Windows XP as well as in an IE tab through Firefox (IE tab is a nice
extension that allows Windows users to do just that, open a tab of their
Firefox browser that functions as IE. Great for sites that aren't
compatible with Firefox (in my experience, that typically means sites
created with tools that don't comply with normal web standards (in other
words, Microsoft web site authoring software sometimes makes web sites
that don't function with non-Microsoft browsers).

Subject: AMNUMSOC-L: More on Google Maps
Dear All,
Some readers had trouble with the length of the URL I
included in the last message. Kelly kindly sent a tiny url. You can
also try:
http://numismatics.org/collection/1944.100.50731
This should be short enough to make it through unwrapped.
I received some feedback that clicking on "show map" didn't work. I
think this has to do with browser/os combinations. I test these maps
in FireFox 2.x on OS X and they work there. I expect that as I push
forward with implementation, I will be able to better handle more
combinations.
In the short term I am drawing co-ordinates from the Pleiades
Project at http://pleiades.stoa.org . This is the on-line successor
to the Barrington Atlas of the Classical World and currently has info
for Lycia and Cyrenaica. If there is a mint that you would
particularly like to see on a map, send me the latitude and longitude
and I will update our data.
Best,
-Sebastian.
