I would be grateful if anyone could provide information on this peculiar
Depression era scrip. It apparently comes in six denominations (1/4, 1/2, 1,
1 1/4, 2 and 2 1/2 cents); I have four of them, issued be a long disappeared
store in Coutts, Alberta. The purpose and intended use (for kids to open
savings bank accounts after they had collected at least a dollar's worth) is
self evident. But what of the Child's Savings Bank Company itself? And were
there other stores that issued the scrip? Where, how many, when? Thanks for
any help you can offer.
Ron
