FINAL CALL & CONGRESS PROGRAMME


Dear Colleagues,

International Congress on Information Technology in Agriculture, Food
and Environment (ITAFE) is a series of biyearly organized events by a
group of agricultural informatics specialists which includes the
scientists and researchers from many universities and institutions in
Turkey and Greece. The event is designed to provide opportunities for
academicians, specialists and firms from agriculture, food and
environment community to meet their peers, and discuss the latest
developments in emerging technologies, progress in standards,
services, systems and their applications on information and
communication technologies (ICT) in agriculture, food and environment
at international level. The congress is also open for the
contributions from all areas of ICT including robotics, control
systems, communication and networking systems, information systems,
bioinformatics, e-business, e-learning or similar services and
products realized in other interdisciplinary fields of ICT studies.

ITAFE'05 is the second event which will be held in October 12-14, 2005
in Adana, Turkey. This event has been organized by various departments
the Çukurova University, and hosted by Rectorate of Çukurova
University. The Congress has been cordially supported and sponsored by
the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey, Turkish
Informatics Society, Chamber of Agricultural Engineers of Adana,
Çukurova Animal Science Association, Adana Chamber of Industry, Adana
Chamber of Commerce, Municipality of Seyhan, Adana and many others
from non-govermental, govermental and private sectors in Turkey and
the world.

I would like to emphasize once more that ITAFE works again as a
collaborative effort by many scientists and researchers from 40
countries, almost whole globe from East Asia to America to Africa to
Europe. The involvement of you who are our dear delegates, your
invaluable contributions with the keynotes, oral and poster
presentations and other type of contributions to the Congress,
guarantee our continued vitality as an international event of the
informatics community in agriculture, food and environment.  As well
known our world is changing around us rapidly and so is ITAFE.  Change
has always been a part of our profession, society, and science, but as
information technologists we always have risen to muster an effective
retort. New solutions, systems, methods, and applications are making
great strides toward solving the problems effectively, and our
specialty must respond as well. In this context, in order to make
human being full, environment sustainable, and the world is happy
ITAFE'05 as a second event of this congress series will be another
great step to adapt and apply ICT and benefit its advantages in
agriculture, food and environment.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am very pleased to announce
that the ITAFE Congress Programme has been finalized with intensive
