Yesterday was a fiasco, at least in my trying to get in
touch with you.
I believe I have misplaced your cell phone number, so
could not call you as I wanted. (If you wish to give it to
me, send it privately, please, or call me on my phone. Not
through the amuse-ny list.)
I made the decision to head back home. Sorry if you
got there and found no one.
As to future meetings: 1) There is a new Internet
browser for the Amiga (68K - 3.9, as well as AmigaOne and
all 4.x), which has CSS. This is something the other Amiga
browsers do not have. 2) A new Cloanto AmigaForever is
available. 3) There is also a C64Forever. 4) And, WinUAE
keeps on being updated.
So now we actually might have some things to show each
other. I might even be willing to drag my laptop to a
meeting to show some. I have not downloaded the browser
yet, and I have not bought the new AmigaForever yet, but, we
will see. I do know that AmigaForever has successfully been
placed on the eeepc computers, and that it runs well.
I guess we now have to decide whether meeting in an
eatery is all we need, or is a classroom in NYU a better
idea? If we do it in an eatery, we can even get those there
to gather round? Who knows, it might even cause some
interest in the Amiga again?
Again, my apologies for your perhaps being the only one
there.
Kind regards,
Julian.
