Not sure what you mean as the applet
is working fine, unless you have fixed it

You don't have your .jar files and .class files etc ALL in the same folder
and getting them all uploaded EVERYBODY does the same thing when they first
try and everybody ask and some people even answer rudely telling them to
read the FAQ I make a folder on my desk top then at the end I save ALL files
to that folder then I personally use front page to upload to the web and
after a while I got it to work. but it AIN"T simple. Jim

Thanks for the help, Jim I had them working at one time, but somehow
I've moved something and I can't for the life of me figure out what
I did wrong. I've been trying to get it straightened out for a week
and I'm going nuts, but maybe I'll see if the files are all in the
same folder. I have been reading the FAQ page and the messages to
try to get some insight, but I'm just not quite grasping it, but I
will. Thanks, Sally

Sally, Sorry you are having so much trouble. It is tricky and they ran off
from the forum the guy that was most helpful. I just pretty much rooted
around till I got it to work. I don't know what "class' files and "jar"
files are or where to find them but I know you have to get ALL the files in
the applet into the same folder. Wish I could tell you for sure HOW to do it
but I'm not too sure myself. I am fixin to try to make a new one for my
website today so if it works I'll try to tell you how I did it.you can see
some of the ones I've made at www.vbfministry.org Yours Jim

Hello,

I have problems with this also. One thing I know is wrong with one of my
applets, is...you don't want any spaces in the name. Have you checked this?

I wish this group was more helpful also.

Jim I used Anfy for 2 years before I found this list, I did things the hard
way and still do sometimes.

When you use the Anfy wizard to add the images to your, say a slide show, it
put a copy of each image you add into the cfade folder so that when you
click preview, it creates preview.htm(L) in the cfade folder also.

So if the preview from the anfy wizard works and not in your file, then
compare. All the images need to be in the same folder and the html page.
There are 3 classes(anfy, cfade, lware) and a jar file that needs to be
there also. I used to have a LOT of trouble too, :O)

So any of the other applets need to handled the same,
Cyn

Hi, I have used this a number of times, and it works fine every time I use it.
Make sure the pictures are all the same size, and go to the end and then save to
a folder. I usually save it to a folder named Anfy and then within that folder
make a seperate folder for each show or applet I make, this way if you delete
something on your site, you have a backup.
Give me some specifics, and I will try to lend a hand.
The outcome should work fine in your folder in your documents.
If it does, and not on your site, you may need to add a path to the url if all
files are not in the same folder on your site.

I have done the same used it for three+ years or more then posted a
question which was an image one took the advise and my applet worked
the way I wanted it. Some people say that the group has gone down hill
without Hugh because some people CHASED him away not so. He lefet the
group because he felt other people can give advise and direction
better than he can.

Most of the questions are the same ole thing "Why do I get a gray box"
simple most of the time, load ALL of the freaking files and it'll work
common sence right NOT so for most. Another one "Why don't all of my
images show" simple load all the image files and it will work work.

Maybe Hugh left and NOT chased because he got tired of the same ole BS
that people asked without checking the archives. I had checked the
archive's for the past 100 or so question's and have found the
solution to the issue at hand.

If people would check the archive FIRST than post we would be a lot
less busy.

If it works fine in preview and you uploaded ALL the files it is a
frontpage issue (IMHO a real peice of crap software) frontpage adds to
the page and is SO BLOATED afterwards it makes a page useless most of
the time as you are finding out.

My advise is to take some time and learn HTML (at least the basics)
then add the ANFY code or at least do some research on HTML and how to
add an applet to it will solve any and all issues you have.

Jim,
Hugh left because he felt he had too, NOT because some "whiners" as
you put it MADE him leave. He left because he felt other people could
give any and all advise to the ANFY users. This is what he had told me
in an email not so long ago. If Hugh was the only person that could
give advise on ANFY he would have written the code for it or at least
stayed with the group or be employed by ANFY. There are a few people
in the group who understand the interworkings of the program itself
and Hugh is NOT one of them he know's this and it's time you knew it
also. Hugh was a good information source for the ANFY program and how
to use it. The interworkings of the program lay with ANFY and a very
few within this group.

The internal workings of the ANFY software takes an understanding of
mathmatics at a high level and computer science along with Java.

Without the both of them you can't and/or don't understand the
internal workings of the program itself.

I am one the Moderators on this board
Hugh was NOT asked to LEAVE in fact I asked him to stay
he left because he felt he had given a enough of his
time here, Hugh is welcome back at any time.
If you do not like the way I moderate please free to
Email Fabio and tell him so,
if you do not like the way questions are answered
then please reply to them yourself,
also most of the questions are answered
in Anfy help files
I have been on this board about 4 years
and it has been the same all the time
only a few people bother to help out
other people just moan about the way things are done
if you feel things are wrong then help out instead of just
complaining,

I didn't know was an issue until Hugh announced he was leaving. I was busy
and have been busy for the last year to post as much as I like. But my take
on it was that Hugh had some personal issues going on at the time, and
BECAUSE he devoted a great deal of his time here (yes, he did help a lot and
we let him do it). Hence, I think he got tired of it all when you try hard
help a lot of people, then one person comes along that is, argumentative,
unconstructive , and frankly, way off base attacks the list/helper and spews
..It creates a black hole of positive energy in the list. One episode such
as this seems to out weigh all the positive things of helping others before;
that has happened to me and you just want to "walk off and forget it all".

The focus of this list is NOT TO SELL ANFY, the software itself does that.
The purpose of this list is to create, share, learn, enjoy, and help. And
those who join the list need to learn, participate and in turn help others.
I don't know, Paul, do we have a gray box faq? :O)

If you use this list to argue to "prove you are right" it goes down hill,
there was an argument that should have been offlist, the contenders both
lived in different time zones......and for the longest time because one
would post then go to sleep, then the other would wake up and argue back....
.then others would hop in and either participate in the argument or demand
it to be taken offlist.....IT WAS ABSURD!!! and destructive. Posts/help
dropped dramatically.

So let's do what we are supposed to help, create, share, help, and enjoy.

Jim, did you get your image error fixed? I had forgotten about spaces in the
names, same size images, etc. Those type of errors the preview out of anfy
shouldn't work, but when it does, compare your folder content to anfy
s--specifically in the directory name of the applet you are working on. Cyn

No, I haven't had time to mess with it and just posted the pics a different
way on my website. I did Have a space in my folder title and maybe I'll try
again later. I have a lot of update to do first of the month and don't have
a lot of trial and error time to spend on ANFY and most of the folks post
that you are too ignorant to have a website or mess with ANFY till you know
HTML.

The problem is when we get frustrated, we get blind and can't see the
obvious. Since you don't have time now going back into it "cold" when you
do, you may see the obvious. If not, post again, also, I don't remember if
you ever posted a url for your anfy, that would help.Cyn

BTW, it would be nice to have a way for for those having problems to upload
zipped files for us to take a look at, but I suppose that would be
cumbersome

LET HUGH HELP! Where did you come up with that. He helped because he wanted to
and did a fairly good job, his leaving had nothing to do with getting tired,
unless you want to put in tired of the moderators and some of the simplistic
responses, such as check out the archieves. How lazy can you get as moderators.
Even your 'attitody' response is very typical of how low ANFY has sunk. I am
sure that if you look into the economics of developing software you will find
that 'troublesdhooting' and support is the main reason it sells, if you do not
think the sales are directly related to how well the support is then you don't
know the basics of business. And please don't put words in my mouth, my

And Please don't get into someones head by saying they have PERSONAL ISSUES,
that is very uncalled for, and not something anyone can say of another.
