Thanks for the replies. I like my haflinger fillys for they are very afectionate and gentle. The paint mare I had was more jumpy I had to watch her and work slow around her all the time. I was not afraid of her just respectful. Anything could make her jumpy. The haflingers I have just look before they decide to respond, I like that.
My fillies I bought three years ago when they where just a couple of months old. My paint colt who is about 3 now has tried to breed them but they don't seem to be pregnant. They did come in back in the summer but have not since that time. My paint is solid chocolate brown bay. I was hoping to get darker color babies.
At first my goal was to replace my tractor with the draft horses. I even sold the tractor for I was always tinkering with it to make it run. I have several old pieces of horse drawn equipment that has seen it's better days. I started repairing the hay mower but soon stopped. I would like to learn the ways of working with draft horses.
I was wondering what draft animals do you have and what do you use them for?
