Welcome Tenzicut ~  I'am hoping we get more folks who actually use bovine & equine partners on the homestead.. I have ponies & donkeys ,but in the past have trained steers to drive..I'm in the Missouri Ozarks with varied terrain that makes it handy to have a smaller animal for choring..We ride a lot as we have areas of Nat'l Forest that are right next to us ...I'm older so have to be contented with far less than I used to be able to do..tho I work with a few green ponies & love to help people wanting to learn I don't take on big projects...It sounds like you are well equipped to handle your 40acres..I'm going to suggest to my brother in Montana that he join us as he thinks he wants to use bovine power on his 20 acre patch of heaven...I told him he could use a better harness set up than a yoke & am showing him from Small Farmers Journal what I mean..I'll look up the issue ...   I'll get back here more often... GrannieD
