Both are beautiful!
I think I actually prefer Omicron with just the color data... the dust seems
to pop more.

This is vdB10. Nothing fancy; sort of a classical reflection nebula. I'm
working my way through them as the weather permits. At this rate I should
finish the vdB catalog in, oh, ten years!

I also added some luminance data to my recent Omicron Persei image.

Tom,

Both of them are beautiful. As for getting through the van den Bergh
catalog in ten years, probably your best best is multiple scopes imaging
at the same time. Otherwise, between the moon, the weather and whatever
else comes up, it is a walk up one serious steep hill.

Anthony.

That's a beauty, Tom!!!!
Congrats,

Gilles

I targeted NGC 1904 just to see if there was any dust in the area that
I could pick up with my little system. According to SIMBAD there was a
cloud Gal 228.0-28.6 relatively nearby but I could not find any images
of it to see how large and what it looked like. I imaged from
Australia, through high think clouds, and I was able to show this
galactic cloud and it's relative position to NGC 1904. The high, thin
clouds made all the brighter stars have halos -- I decided not to try
to clean them all up.

_http://www.tvdavisahttp://wwhttp://www.tvdavhttp://wwhtt_
(http://www.tvdavisastropics.com/astroimages-1_0000aa.htm)

It is not the most exciting image but I am pretty pleased to pick up
such a faint galactic cloud.

Please ignore the haloed stars.

Tom

This release fixes inadvertent calibration and improves responsiveness to
clients when serial port errors occur. It is
highly recommended that you update to this version.

Hi Ray

Thank You.

Can you expand on "inadvertent calibration"? Since using the new driver
(not THIS fresh release) I've had two occurrences where the scope was
suddenly no longer properly pointing on GOTO. I was unable to explain the
cause either time.

Mike

Hi Mike,

The new driver has the ability to set tracking rates (for tracking comets,
asteroids, etc.) for GTOCP2 mounts like
PulseGuide does. But before using that feature the driver needs to determine
movement directions. To do this you press
the "calibrate" button which would fire off a timer to initiate a 3 second move
of the mount. Well, unfortunately when I
put in the timer for this feature I failed to disable it so when you first
connected to the driver the timer would fire
and thus do an unexpected 3 second move (North and East at the guide rate).

Hey Eric,

With a killer result like that, I would love the "old 6"/f12 superplanetary" as
well. :-)

Awesome result.

Anthony.

Nice to hear from you my friend, no, the seeing was not that good, it was stable
to a point and it came and went in a periodic ondulatory fashion, so I had to
wait until the image settled and make the recordings accordingly. Yes, Valle de
Bravo is a nice place as you recall. :-))
Send my best regards,
Eric.
