I've had many issues of it not wanting to create exports (program
crashes part way through) - my thought is the 10.5.7 update.

Doesn't help us both any, but in your case, I would try and re-build
the projects - I think it's holding down the option key at Aperture
startup until it asks you to rebuild them.
