Andy is out of town and I am unexpectedly unable to facilitate this
evening.  Sorry for the last minute notice, especially after Yahoo!
sends 9 email reminder notices, we need to pull the plug on the
meeting tonight.

We'll spend some time after the conference making sure we are better
at self-organization and acting more like a starfish than a spider ;-)

We are meeting at Taco Mac again this month.

Our agenda will be around the upcoming leadership summit.  I'd also
like to discuss several other ideas that have come up over the past
few weeks around corporate lunch and learn sessions and quarterly open
space sessions.

We will not have a planning meeting on Monday August 4th.  Several of

Martin did the impossible, he was able to get a hold of the marketing
guy at PMI Atlanta.  We have copy in place and will advertise the
summit in the next four issues of the PMI Atlanta newsletter.  This
list goes out to over 3300 PMs in Atlanta.  It will cost money, but
well worth the investment!

Okay... the deal is done.  We have announced the summit.

Here is what I need from every one of you guys.

If you blog, blog about the summit
If you twit, twit about the summit
If you use Plaxo, announce the summit to your community
If you have an employer, let them know about the summit
If you have an employer with money, ask them to sponsor the summit
If you have an employer with a training budget, have them send people
to the summit
If you have friends that might be interested, tell them about the summit.
If you know of any nearby agile groups, please announce the summit on
their sites.

The more traffic the better, duplicates are okay.

We are doing a few interesting things with our summit that have not
been done before:

If you find a sponsor willing to commit at Silver or above, we will
give you free admission to the conference

If your group registers 4 people, the 5th will get in free.  That
could be you.

If you have a group of 5 or more, we are offering a 20% discount on
all admissions

If you are an APLN member, we are offering a 50$ discount on your
registration fee.

So... get the word out.  The website is up with sponsorship
information, information on the speakers and their talks, hotel
information, and links to register.

We are proud to announce that the next APLN Leadership Summit is
coming to Atlanta!

For the past few years, local APLN chapters have organized and hosted
regional Leadership Summits. These events have been very well received
and attract fantastic speakers and exceptional local thought leaders
throughout the agile community.

This is your chance to attend an Agile conference specifically
designed to address the needs of the Agile community in Atlanta and
the Southeast. Our speakers will discuss topics ranging from Product
and Portfolio management to Agile Architecture and Metrics. Each
speaker will present two talks, one geared toward the practitioner
that is looking for tools and techniques they can use on a daily
basis, the other toward leaders considering, or leading, a switch to
Agile.

The summit is geared toward new and seasoned Agile leaders at all
levels: organizational leaders, product leaders, development leaders,
and project leaders. This is your chance to spend a whole day with
some of the leading experts in the area of Agile Leadership, to
network with with other agile leaders, and to share your experiences
and concerns with those who are in the same situation as yourself.

The Dallas and Seattle Summits were a huge success! Next up is Atlanta!

The APLN Leadership Summit format includes:

     * Networking opportunities throughout the day
     * Speakers addressing how to lead their organizations to become agile.
     * "Think Tank" sessions on Agile Leadership with topics addressing
advanced leadership tools, experiences, lessons learned, and issues
yet to be resolved.
     * Networking social at the end of the first day to review think
tank solutions and suggestions.


The APLN Atlanta planning committee has lined up an all star group of
speakers and local Agile leaders. The conference is limited to 120

Hello everyone,

We have a busy APLN day tomorrow.  We start the day with the 10:00 AM
meeting.  The dial in information is in the group calendar entry.
Always make sure to double check the call-in info in case I have to
change anything.

We will be reviewing action items from last week and specifically
discussing sponsorship, speakers, and marketing.

Tomorrow evening we have our face to face meeting.  The calendar entry
says that we are back at CheckFree.  That was my intent for this
meeting but we are going to end up at Taco Mac again.

We will be reviewing physical documents in preparation for our
marketing blitz next week.  Also, we will discuss local incentives if
you are able to help us land sponsorship.

Looking forward to talking with and seeing everyone tomorrow.
