Description

BACKGROUND
To help people in our industry align on what it means to be an agile leader for purposes of learning, training, and hiring, the APLN Board and its Learning & Recognition committee have considered the topic of recognition since our founding. We passed the following resolutions at the 9-10 February 2007 Board Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah:
"The APLN commits to lead and support the creation, implementation, and evolution of an accreditation program for Agile Project Leaders based on design criteria including the DOI, with a draft proposal published by Aug 15, 2007"
and
"The APLN invites others to join in forwarding the Agile Project Leader accreditation program"

NEW DECISION - JULY 2007

At the APLN Board teleconference on July 9th we voted on the below resolutions - proposed by the L&R Committee. Both resolutions were NOT approved by the board.

RESOLUTION 1: For the purpose of helping our industry on what it means to be an Agile leader and thereby support learning – the APLN Board empower the current L&R Committee to publishing the L&R competences and possibly a competence-litterature-X-reference-list on the APLN website.

RESOLUTION 2: For the purpose of living up to our commitment – for the purpose of driving Learning and Recognition – and for the purpose of releasing a version 1 of the program and thereby getting true feedback from our industry - The APLN board empower the current L&R Committee to Launch and Pilot the program during Agile2007 according the version 1.4 L&R Project charter. This includes using the set of competences as guidance – as opposed to a minimum set – for the tests and exams.

NEW LEADERSHIP OF THE APLN L&R COMMITTEE

The old L&R Committee Chairman Ole Jepsen decided to step down - and let others come up with a L&R Program, that the APLN board will approve.

Pollyanna Pixton is the new leader of the APLN L&R Program.
