Mouse=mouse.drv or something similar.

You said the mouse is on com1. I am taking it that it is a serial mouse. Do
you have a PS2 port on the motherboard? I had an older computer a year ago
that refused to be recognized on the serial (com1) port, but the minute I
connected it to a PS2 port problem solved.

Greetings:)
I have a small problem with my pc that has been annoying me for a few
weeks.
The mother board is cx5x86,I use a lexmark 7000 printer, fax, voice, data
modem, av363c scanner, 24x cd rom, 3.5 drive, svga monitor, os w95, oe5,
mie5, icq and all of the usual office associated programs, basically an
average set up.
All items work without a problem.
Except the mouse, which is connected to com1, I am able to use mouse keys
and all other features.
I have tried having windows detect the mouse, it refuses to recognise that
there is a mouse on the system, I have tried reinstalling the mouse
driver,
etc, still no luck, according to windows there is not a mouse on my
system,
I have even tried buying new mice, new drivers etc, and of course, I am
still without the mouse which is really annoying when you have become used
to the speed of click, drag and drop:)
I would appreciate any ideas on this problem
Thanks for your time,
Regards
