RE: [aplus] HI

Since you are a teacher, may I give you a little advice. I have been
working in the repair field for seven months and what I have found out is
this. A+ does not mean too much unless you are also certified by places
like Compaq, HP, Lexmark, Dell, Gateway and the like. For instance, if you
are not certified on a Compaq product you can not do warranty work on it.
You must be certified on each of their products. I am A+, CNST, CST, & CSS
certified and at no time was I asked by anyone if I had these
Certifications. I have been asked many time if I was Compaq Certified. In
my opinion students should concentrate on getting the other Certifications
first then getting A+ Certified. If you are Compaq, HP, Lexmark, IBM or
any other company certified you will get a job twice as fast then just
being A+.

Hi,

I am a high school teacher from Michigan. I have a repair class that I
teach and thought it would be helpful to teach the students the
information needed for the initial A+ certification. Can another
suggest what my best approach would be? I am interested in a text book
that would cover this information. I purchased a cd for the A+ test,
but there are only sample questions on it, would like something a bit
more specific in a teaching atmosphere.

I have looked over the content for the test and do cover it in bits and
pieces throughout the term. It would be nice to get some advice from
the experts.

Thanks,
Anna B.

How does one get company-specific certification? Well, I would assume you contact the manufacturer themselves... but is it something where the company will...
