Sir,
I write to you cause I have some problems with some configurations. I
explain (be patient I speack french!) I sell 7 AMD Athlon between 700 to
900 MHZ, each pcs have a thermaltake (big model) up to 1 ghz, a ASUS A7V,
128 DIMM PC/133, a geforce2 mx asus V7100T, a creative labs pci sb 128, a
IBM 30 gb 75gxp UDMA100, a DVD toshiba 12X, a cdrew creative 8X4X32X, a
cases with 250W, a sony FDD and (god bless me) WIN 98SE. Some of them
reboot or freeze at the beginnig of windows (before the apparition of the
START menu). I found the new release of the bios (1004C who fix problem of
reboot under win98 SE!) I think my life is safe! I was wrong, cause a
client ask me for the same configuration with a AMD DURON 700mhz!!! I tell
him: ok. I setup the 1004C bios (with aflash from ASUS), I setup the last
UDMA/100 promise drivers, etc... With this machine, reboot and freeze
reappear! Now I'm discourage and I'm afraid that the same problem is not
resolve with the ATHLON. I don't know if it's a hardware, bios, software
problem? If the geforce 2 mx have bad drivers who crash the machine! if
there are incompatibility with duron-A7V-Geforce.. etc I can't find the
problem because it appear not everytime. Sometime it appear, not every
time!!! It's very strange and if it was a hardware defectiveness, it
happens everytimes, I think!!!
Please help me, I'm exhausted!
