Yes. You are referring to QR Coded. Look for QR Scanners.

Can the iPhone 4 scan those little boxes that you see in magazines? I am
talking about the little square that you get when you print out your boarding
pass that you can then scan when you get to the airport to avoid the lineups.

They are everywhere now and I wonder if I can scan them with the iPhone or the
iPad.

Do you not have Google? QR stands for Quick Response Code.

Jeeze I thought things like this happened only to me! I'd sue the dodge dealer
for a non-functioning Bluetooth handsfree and ask him to return my money.

year he had a Dodge bluetooth "hands-free" system installed in his car, at a
cost of $500, by the dealer. After struggling for some time trying to get it to
work he discovered from the dealer (and had confirmed by Dodge) that the Dodge
vehicle software would no longer work with iOS 5.

my son is interested in moving the version of iOS on his iPhone from 5.0 back to

Apple support only lists for download upgrades to move forward to newer
versions, not complete versions or downgrades.

The app that I use is Best Barcode Scanner,
<http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/best-barcode-scanner-scan/id454087075?mt=8>.

The app that I don't use is T-Mobile QR Reader,
<http://itunes.apple.com/nl/app/t-mobile-qr-reader/id467376972?mt=8>.

I just tried both of them on the same QR code.
The T-Mobile app (I'm a Dutch T-Mobile user) didn't get it, the Best
Barcode Scanner beeped once the code was in focus, then took me to the
webpage the code referd to.

I have a keynote doc on the iMac and have placed it in iTunes/File

the iPad in connected to the iMac.

I have quit and restarted Keynote.

No matter what I do the doc in question doesn't appear on the iPad.

What else can I try?

Sorry for the long post, but I am so lost! I have an IPhone 4 and was having no
problems with it or iTunes until my hard drive died. I purchased a new hard
drive and restored it with my recovery disks made when I first purchased my lap
top. Then I installed the newest version of iTunes and suddenly cannot find my
iPhone!

I have read everything I can find on the Apple iTunes support web site and also
on my Toshiba web site. I've tried everything suggested. Still no IPhone in
iTunes. It shows up in device manager & when plugged into a USB port, it is
recognized and I was able to move pictures from my phone to the picture folder
in Windows - which is Windows 7 Home Edition.

I also tried my iPad which is the original iPad - It doesn't show either.

Any different ideas? HELP!

According to the manual, it does mean Edge?

Since you have a Verizon iPhone, you should not see that unless you have a SIM
card to allow the other reception. I don't know how that part works since I am
with AT&T.

If you don't have a SIM card in the phone, then I would take it into an Apple
Store and ask them because that is not right. Or if you have to a Verizon store.

Are you saying the devices do not show at all in iTunes, or that their old
"profiles" don't show?

Since the old "profiles" and iTunes library were on the old failed HD, you have
to create them again.

I'm on the Mac side, and there are apps that will allow you to move some of your
stuff from the iDevices back to a Mac. I assume there are similar apps on the
Windows side, but you will still have to recreate whatever is not on your
iDevices. Hopefully, if this is the issue, then someone maybe able to help you
from the Windows side.

They don't show at all in iTunes. When I first plug into the USB my drivers
don't load correctly. Also I didn't mention that iTunes tells me that the
registry for the CD Rom are not there - and when I run the diagnostics in iTunes
it does not pick up the CD Rom nor the iPhone.

I've thought about restoring my phone thinking that might work, but haven't
figured out how to off load my music onto the computer yet.

thanks for the input - I appreciate it.

Don't restore your iDevices, unless you have backups of the info on them
elsewhere.

I am not a big Windows user, what do you mean by "the registry for the CD Rom
are not there"? Are you saying the computer is not seeing the optical drive or a
CD disc?

My understanding of registry, is the underlying settings, preferences and
possibly caches to run software and hardware.

It sounds to me that either your current install of the OS is faulty or
incomplete. Have you completed all updates to bring the system current?

Yes, you are exactly right, the computer was not seeing the optical drive (CD
disc). I did a restore to a previous time and then loaded all updates and my
computer now sees the optical drive, but iTunes still says the registery is not
correct and the diagnostics in iTunes does not recognize that there is an
optical drive. I can live with that, just that it didn't used to do that!

My main issue is itunes not recognizing the iPhone or Ipad.

Thanks

Bobleta

Having experienced a issue similar to yours -- not the same, but still an
iTunes/iPhone recognition problem -- I'd suggest that you call Apple. I ended up
in a v e r y extended session with a tech expert, but the resolution was
positive.

I never could have figured out the solution without a lot of tech help.

Mine was covered under warranty since I'd recently upgraded my OS (Mac) .
Good luck.

computer now sees the optical drive, but iTunes still says the registery is not
correct and the diagnostics in iTunes does not recognize that there is an
optical drive. I can live with that, just that it didn't used to do that!

Have you re-installed all the Toshiba (was that what was?) device drivers? You
may need to go to their website to get them for your model laptop. Windows
likely will not have them built in.

I have the same issue every once in awhile.

I had it the last our days when I was away from home and had a weak Verizon
signal on my iPhone. I was signed on as a guest user on a hospital wifi system.

After I got home the problem cleared up with no action on my part.

My recollection is that this issue occurs when I am away from home.

There's no other way to pair a BlueAnt? It has to be voice command?

Check out page 28 of
http://www.myblueant.com/downloads/manuals/S4_UserGuide_EN.pdf for
alternatives to voice control for key functions.

To enter pairing mode:
Press the multi-function button in the middle for about 6 seconds with
the S4 switched on, but not on a call.

Verizon iPhone 4s are dual, gsm + cdma. It is possible for week areas
Verizon has tied up with some gsm operator.

Hello,

Need some advice please.

I am an Australian and soon will be travelling overseas to the USA. I plan on
my taking my iPhone 4S with me as I would like to check in on Facebook and stuff
like that. I wont be using it for calls as I will rely on Facetime, Skype and
emails.

So my question is how do I go about getting set up to use my iPhone in the
States? Where would I get the SIM card etc?

Again, my iPhone is from AT&T and I have no experience with the Verizon iPhone.

SIM cards are for GSM use and so you would see E, 3G or 4G. If you were on the
Verizon network you would be on the CDMA network and see either 3G or ˚ (a
degree symbol), for EV-DO or 1xRTT, respectively.

Why do you have a SIM card in a Verizon iPhone? Who is your cellular provider
and who's net work is the SIM card for?

Brent
