This group is a common meeting ground for Arab science journalists to discuss the various issues related to their field of work.
Objectives:
1. Exchanging experiences and ideas between the members of the group.
2. Exchanging contact information of individuals and institutions relevant to the science journalists' field of work.
3. Issuing an annual report that analyzes science content in Arab media.
4. Providing information for Arab science journalists on scholarships, opportunities and awards available to science journalists around the world.
5. Developing a web site for Arab science journalists that can, in the future, be an important source of information not only for journalists, but also to professional scientists.
6. Developing a unified stance on various controversial scientific issues.
7. Encouraging Arab science journalists to focus their efforts on covering stories that might further development in the region.
Membership requirements:
To become a member one must be one of the following:
1. a media professional working in the field of science (including print, broadcast and internet media..also including writers, editors, presenters, directors, etc.).
2. a scientist or researcher
3. an academic in a faculty of journalism and mass communications in an Arab university, interested in science journalism
4. a communications officer working in the field of science
