the Internet Archive Film Short Contest: The World at War
Create a film short and win $2,000 demonstrating why access to history
matters.
Time and social evolution provide new perspectives on the past. We
invite you to share your perspective of an historical event associated
with War. It can be a true story, a parody or fiction. We also ask
that you utilize free content to create your film. This content can be
found in archives all across the Internet. Start with the Internet
Moving Images Archive. Please share your favorite archives with other
filmmakers by emailing the site addresses to info@....
All Submissions due: July 15, 2001 at 12:00 PST
Submissions will be judged based on creative use of materials
(particularly use of public-domain materials), artistic direction and
articulate content (please note that parodies are encouraged).
Production quality will be considered within the technological and
time limitations posed by this contest. A prize of $2,000 will go to
the winning film.
Please note that all acceptable entries will be posted online for free
access via the Internet and will be maintained in the Internet
Archive. There will also be a public showing of the top 20 films at
the San Francisco Public Library -- Presidio Branch on Thursday July
31, 2001.
