3 Graduate students at Berkeley did their final project on the uses of the
Wayback Machine. I believe it is open to the public (I have not heard back from
them, and it is close to that date). The URL is password protected
unfortunately, so dont bother trying to see it.

>Project Presentation Description: The Internet Archive is a
>comprehensive web-based digital library that continually crawls all
>public internet pages and archives them. These archived web sites are
>available for public access through the Wayback Machine search service.
>The mission of this project is to help the Internet Archive
>
http://www.archive.org), specifically the Wayback Machine, understand
>and satisfy the requirements of their growing user base. We will
>identify users of the Wayback Machine, study user experience and
>behavior, and finally make recommendations to enhance the user's
>experience with the Wayback Machine.
