How about Leary Circuits and the 8-brain mind meta-model ?

I have been banging on about this for some time, maybe it has no merit, but it
would be nice to at least receive a refutation.

I have been designing a new chatbot and I wanted to discuss data structures.

How do you store data so that it can be:

1) Searched quickly
2) Maintain associate links with related topics
3) Allow easy questioning such as "what is a x", or "how big is a x". Allow for
easy comparisons such as "is x similar to y" "How fast is x"
4) No rely on third party apps such as SQL because I want full control of the
database and do not want installation hassles.

Any thoughts or ideas would be useful.

Have a look at the way a spelling checkers works. They create a 16bit hash that
you can store in memory, roughly 115k bytes * 2. The Z order in the hash table
directly correlates to a word and can be searched super fast. As a side
benefit, if you use the same hash algorithm as a spelling checker you get all of
the similar sounding words / phrases.

GECCO 2012: Call for Papers on GENETICS-BASED MACHINE LEARNING (GBML)

2012 Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO-2012)
July 7-11, Philadelphia, USA
http://www.sigevo.org/gecco-2012/

Submission deadline: January 13, 2012

Co-located with the International Workshop on Learning Classifier Systems
(IWLCS)
====================================================================

The Genetics-Based Machine Learning (GBML) track at GECCO covers all
advances in theory and application of evolutionary computation methods
to Machine Learning (ML) problems.

ML presents an array of paradigms -- unsupervised, semi-supervised,
supervised, and reinforcement learning -- which frame a wide range of
clustering, classification, regression, prediction and control tasks.

Evolutionary methods have a range of uses in ML:
- addressing subproblems of ML e.g.
   - feature selection and construction
   - optimising parameters of other ML methods
- as learning methods e.g.
   - generating classification hypotheses with Genetic Programming
   - learning control systems or cognitive modelling with Learning Classifier
Systems
- as meta-learners which adapt base learners e.g.
   - evolving the structure and weights of neural networks
   - evolving the data base and rule base in genetic fuzzy systems
   - evolving ensembles of base learners
   - evolving representations, update rules or algorithms for base
     learners

The global search performed by evolutionary methods can complement the
local search of non-evolutionary methods and combinations of the two
are particularly welcome.

Free tutorials include:
- Learning Classifier Systems
- Large Scale Data Mining using Genetics-Based Machine Learning

I prefer writing in C but it all depends on your environment that you are having
the application run in. Is this going to be like a bot or actual learning AI?

Building neural networks from your data could not be simpler. Import
your data from txt, csv, xls, bmp or binary files with just a few
clicks. Grow a multi layer neural network that will learn from your
data. Validate while the network is learning. Then test or query the
network using new data to produce results and see which inputs are
really important. The grid in JustNN has no limit of number of rows
and can have up to 1000 columns. The networks have no node or
connection limits and are fast and very easy to use. JustNN has no
evaluation date or time limits.

JustNN is still free.
