Suggestion: Get a contract in writing. First of all make a clause to the effect that who you hire cannot work within your area or 100 miles for 5 years after...
I think that would be a great way to not find help. 100 miles --- 5 years!?!? besides being excessive and unreasonable, it's almost certainly unenforceable....
