ASC COMMENTS:
This earthquake caused surprisingly little damage given its magnitude. There
were reports of three walls collapses, one each in the villages of Jinti,
Murudwadi and Sadu Deenu Debe in the Kasani region of Satara district. Buildings
were also damaged at Navja.

At Kolhapur, it was strong and displaced kitchen utensils in a few instances.
Strong tremors were also felt at Chiplun, Jawali, Khandala, Khatav, Koregaon and
Satara. Train services on the Konkan Railway were briefly halted between Anjani
and Vilavade.

This earthquake was felt in much of western Maharashtra including Mumbai and
Pune as well as in Hubli in north Karnataka.
