Thanksgiving is a holiday in the US which is designed for people to
reflect upon things and others that they are thankful for...  It dates
back to the pilgrims who settled here in the 1600s who nearly starved
and froze to death if it hadn't been for the natives who showed them how
to work the land and who shared their crops with them.  Well, at least
that's my understanding of the holiday.  Canadians have Thanksgiving too
but in October....

I drew pilgrims... Traditionally, we eat turkey on T-giving (along with
stuffing, corn bread, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie.)... that's why there
are a lot of ascii turkeys around...

Surely you Frenchmen must have something similar... of course not tied in
with the pilgrims....

BEST EVER RUM CAKE

1t. granulated sugar
1C  dried fruit
1t. baking soda
2   large eggs
     lemon juice
     brown sugar
1C  butter
     baking powder
     nuts
1 or 2 quarts of rum

Before starting, sample rum to check quality.
Good, isn't it? Now proceed. Select large mixing
bowl, measuring cups, etc. Check rum again. It
must be just right. To be sure rum is of proper
quailty, pour one level cup of rum into a glass and
drink is as fast as you can. Repeat. With electric
mixer, beat 1 cup of butter in large, fluffy bowl.
Add seaspoon of thugar and beat again.
Meanwhile, make sure rum is still alright. Try
another cup. Open second quart if necessary. Add
leggs, 2 cups fried druit and beat till high. If druit
gets stuck in beaters, pry loose with drewscriber.
Sample rum again, checking fo tonscisticity. Next
sift 3 cups of pepper or salt (really doesn't matter).
Sample rum, sift 1/2 pint lemon juice. Fold in
chopped butter and strained nuts. Add 1
bablespoon of brown thugar or whatever color
you can find. Wix mell, Grease oven. Turn cake
pan to 350 gredees. Pour mess into boven and ake.
Check rum again and bo to bed.

Hi all..... just looked at the calendar and its coming upon 'that' time
of the year again.  Looking for some Christmas Art to spice up some
email.....

Oh....if any of you can do something with a santa sitting under a
coconut palm next to a thatched hut on the beach.... that would be
most fitting for something coming from my area!
