The ASNSW Group provides a forum for active communication on astronomical and Society matters between Members of the Astronomical Society of New South Wales. Standards of etiquette and courtesy are embodied in a set of Guidelines.

The ASNSW's Thirteenth South Pacific Star Party was held at the Wiruna Dark Sky Observing Site from Friday 11 to Sunday 14 March 2005. Fine daytime and clear night-time weather occurred throughout - setting aside any negative influences of the Number 13!

Joe Cauchi won the Overall Grand Prize of the AstroImaging Competition for his excellent film astrophoto of Omega Centauri. Other category winners were Tony Hitchcock for Digital SLR, Michael Sidonio for Cooled AstroCameras, Peter Smith for Webcam Imagers and Joe Cauchi for Film. Copies of their images have been uploaded to an SPSP 2005 Folder in the Photos Section at the left of this Home Page.
