Hi Even I'm not in Australia, but my TDM400 works beautifully.
First, make sure your line with analog phone.
Second, disable all echo cancellation (TDM400 uses software echo
cancellation with might have bug) to rule out the problem is not caused by
echo cancellation.
Third, contact Digium for replacement card.
