"Scrooge" and "Christmas spirit" hauntings...   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #51 of 97 |

In consideration of the classic Christmas tale of Scrooge and the "Christmas spirits", an unrelated question of "hauntings" was asked in another group regarding classifications of this kind of paranormal phenomena.

From my research, it seems there are about 6 or 7 different types of hauntings which can generally be categorized. They are as follows:

1/ Haunted people: Sometimes people can attract spirits to them - wherever they go. There are people who more from house to house, it seems every house they go to, they continue to have paranormal activity occurring in the place. But it's not because each house they go to is necessarily haunted. In such a case it could be the person themselves who is haunted;

2/ Haunted objects: This can also trigger haunted house experiences. Sometimes it is said objects can be haunted by energies, and wherever that object goes, paranormal occurrences seem to occur. If someone doesn't know an object is haunted, it can also seem like every place they go to becomes haunted or they are haunted personally. This would be because of the object(s) they may have taken with them and carry with them from house to house - for example, a haunted portrait. These hauntings therefore are not necessarily as the result of a haunted person or haunted place, but because of a haunted object.

3/ Haunted houses: Houses can be haunted for various reasons, not necessarily because of any tragedy. It is said sometimes spirits still remain in their "home" after they have long passed on. Reasons could be that they just like it there, or they don't "know" they are dead, or that they are there to perhaps just keep an eye on things (family or friends) in some cases perhaps, for example.

4/ Haunted ground: It is said that houses built on "sacred ground" or "haunted ground" can become haunted. This would be the case if a place was built on a burial ground, for example, or a place where death occurred (like an old battlefield) or near an ocean where shipwrecks often occured and life was lost. These places can also cause a house to be haunted, so it is said.

5/ Portals: In an area or place where a portal to the Otherworld(s) has been opened, this can create enegry fields for hauntings and paranormal activity to occur as well, be it an area or a building - as well as a person, as people themselves can also be portals.

6/ Alien visitation: In the case of some of the popular current views held "alien visitation" (i.e.  what is referred to as - Greys, Orions, Zeta Reticuli, Reptilian, Pleadian., etc), "alien visitation" could be considered a related category to "haunted", and can sometimes be mistaken as a "haunting" or as possible poltergeist activity.

7/ Poltergeists: A related category, not exactly "haunted" per se, but also another category which could be generating "haunting" activity, and sometimes be mistaken for "alien visitation".
