I believe that the little comet from Mars that Our Lady has named "Astra" may impact 145 km East and 11 km North of Baghdad at 23:38 UT on June 10, 2002, and it will appear to come from Cygnus, the "White Cross" at RA 19h 45m 49s, Dec 33º 20' 5". Ground zero is a little town on the Euphrates River named Hit, Iraq. This is not a guess. I computed the coordinates first, then I looked them up on the map. My first ground zero was just 13 km away from Hit, so I adjusted the model to hit Hit because it seemed to be an appropriate name for a target.
If my theory is correct, the orbital elements for Astra are as follows.
Perihelion Distance = 0.77372443 AU
Eccentricity = 0.57668929
Epoch of Perihelion = JD2451580.356632 = 2000 Feb. 5 20:33:33 UT
Inclination = 66.84354211º
Longitude of Ascending Node = 80.1532786º
Argument of the Perihelion = 249.551196º
The model assumes that the comet impacts from the zenith to get the geographic coordinates. In other words, the comet is assumed to be exactly overhead when it hits Hit, and its trajectory is assumed to be perfectly vertical with respect to a non-rotating frame. The rotation of the Earth will make the comet appear to come from some angle East of the zenith because of aberration. This is easily computed, but I haven't done that yet because it isn't necessary.
The following ephemeris (J2000.0 equatorial coordinate angles in degrees) is offered for observers to search for this little comet. At no time will the comet be nearer to the Sun than 50º, so it will always be in the night sky at some time during the night every night for northern hemisphere observers until impact.

All orbit calculations were made with 2-body models (Sun + comet), and they ignore the effect of the Earth's gravity upon arrival and Mars's gravity upon departure. This comet was presumably ejected by Mars on or about June 5, 2000 as a result of a presumed collision with Comet 76P. In order to make the transfer orbit to fit the end points, I had to assume that Comet Astra was ejected by Mars on May 22, 2000 at 20:55:41. This is 14 days early, but I assume that if the gravity of Mars and Earth were taken into account, Comet Astra could be ejected from Mars on schedule and make it from Mars to Earth on time.
I am very precise about the impact time because of the annular solar eclipse that will occur over the Pacific Ocean at about local noon near the International Date Line at the impact epoch on June 10, 2002. If I am wrong about the linkage between this eclipse and the impact, then all of my calculations are wrong. The time of greatest eclipse is 23:44:15.2 UT, and the conjunction is 23:48:12.0 UT. I have taken the liberty of using George Lucas's "THX 1138" message to specify 23:38 UT for the epoch of impact.
I am indebted to the Little Pebble's Message 607 from The Mother of God on May 13, 2001 for the clue that Comet Astra will appear to be approximately stationary in the constellation Cygnus (the "White Cross") the last couple of weeks before impact. That clue plus the clue "1972" from Our Lady, my knowledge that the comet was ejected by Mars, and the eclipse time allowed me to compute a precise orbit. Precision does not guarantee accuracy. The accuracy remains to be demonstrated.
If this comet is discovered by observers, then others more competent than I am will be able to compute its impact time and place rigorously, taking into account Earth's gravity. If the place is in Iraq, there is a danger that military leaders in Baghdad may believe that the impact is not an act of God but a nuclear attack upon Iraq. If so, they may themselves initiate nuclear war upon Israel. It is the duty of Christian believers to convince our Muslim brothers that this little comet from Mars will be the cause of the powerful explosion that will occur in their country.

Glen
