I thought this announcement from Microsoft today would be of some interest to the list. It's a more commercial implementation of multitouch display systems (Jeff Han has been demoing this kind of tech for a couple years at SIGGRAPH). The iPhone will have at least a limited and small-screen implementation of this concept as well next month when it ships, but this is a pretty compelling look at the potential of such an interface, even beyond viz applications:
