Hello again.
I recall vaguely Moses asking for some sort of face analysis software some time
ago. I have no idea about such things (probably still in early developement) but
I know that anthropometrists like using morphing software to generate average
faces of their categories of choice (normally ethnic groups), creating false but
realistic archetypical portraits for such groups.
Not long ago I was suggested to download the freeware SquirlzMorph
(http://www.xiberpix.net/SqirlzMorph.html) by one of such anthropometry
enthusiasts but I did not really used for many months. Only these days I have
begun to take a look at it and get it to work. I've been precisely experimenting
with Astrofaces samples in fact.
After a much needed consultation with the support team (replied in 24 hrs. to my
surprise), I could finally get to average the triple Leo series. Maybe not the
best choice but something to begin with.
I mention this because I believe that either Moses or other followers of
Astrofaces could really make some productive use of this freeware.
Enjoy,
Luis.
PS- My query to SquirlzMorph support team was because the software is mostly
indicated to create animations and not the average still images I wanted and
could not figure out how to.
The very simple explanation (thanks to Jeremy Jones) is as follows:
"Select a "Mix 1" type morph, then use the "Center Morph" button at the bottom
right so all images contribute equally. You can now click the "Copy to New Image
Window" button on the Preview window, and save the newly-created image as the
file you want".
Did it and it works, though I may want to pre-select the admixed images to get
better morphed averages.
