My point of view is that if it is hard to obtain a telescope from abroad, through a friend who would bring it with him when travelling to Pakistan, you should instead purchase the optics from online stores and make a telescope yourself. This is what I did. Beleive me, making a dobsonian telescope is not a hard task, all it requires is dedication and passion.

 

Ibrahim why an 8 inch telescope, why not 6 inch. Yes I know the bigger aperture the better, but if you are new to the field and havent handled a telescope before, 6" is going to be very handy. Also, if objects of your prime interest are planets and other bright objects, a 6" f/8 telescope might just be an ideal piece. I have found this scope useful for many DSOs as well. I developed a 6" dob and found the process of making it quite easy and interesting. I'm not sure how would an 8 incher would go along...
