Mike;
Thanks for the fast reply. I have been keeping an eye on your
website waiting for the review on the Skymemo. I am looking to make
a decision on the Skymemo or the AstroTrac in the next 2 weeks. I
understand how the AstroTrac can carry a heaver load. I plan to use
a Borg 76mm ED scope for some of my astrophotography shots so load
capacity is a concern. The Skymemo looks sturdier and includes a
tripod with a alt/az head. This should make polar alignment easer
and maybe more accurate. The AstroTrac doesn't include a tripod and
it looks to be harder to polar align. It also uses plastic. I live
in Phoenix, AZ and I have seen it get up to 120 degrees here before
the sun goes down. I am afraid of warping. The Skymemo has about +-
8" of RA error too according to Hutech. I want to make a decision
based on polar alignment accuracy, ability to track on long exposures
(30-35 minutes for film), RA error rate, ease of setup and load
capacity.
I am interested is seeing how the two compare in your review.
