THE ASV COMET SECTION

This page has been designed for members of the Astronomical Society of Victoria Inc, Comet Section, to submit reports and images, and communicate with other Comet Section members.
As a member, you will receive regular bulletins on new comets, updates on new discoveries, cometary outbursts, and any news of interest.
Bulletins will include easy to read finder charts, and handy hints on observation.
Membership to the ASV Comet Section is open to all ASV members, and caters for all levels of experience.
New discoveries of amateur interest, will be communicated to members within 24 hours of my notification.
Members are encouraged to post their reports to the group page.
Amateur reports are sought after by many Cometary groups worldwide.
The Comet Section has contributed many reports/images to the following:

German Comet Section
BAA Comet Section
Earthrise (Alan Hale)
Seiichi Yoshida Comet Page
Comet Chasing (Skyhound)
Cometary Section of LIADA
(COBS) Comet Observation Database
International Visual Observation of Comets

With the observers permission, reports will be forwarded on by me, crediting the observer, and the ASV Comet section.

Members are encouraged to submit their reports and experiences, to the ASV's Newsletter "Crux".
The Comet section may get together occasionally to observe at the LMDSS, and other dark sky locations.
Section meetings may be held occasionally, dates will be communicated on this forum.
You can contact me on 0421 616 547.
