Thanks for your e-mail. Sorry I have not been in touch with you for the last several months. I hope everyone is doing well and has received lots of love's condiments, compliments, payments and less predicaments. As I mentioned earlier this year at least for a couple of times, unfortunately I will not be able to attend this year's ATA meeting, since I will be traveling from/to Japan, Korea and US. I must write a rain check for this year. My dearest apologies for any kind of inconveniences it may cause. However, my spirit will be with you and I will shoot my energy to your direction during that week. I regret I couldn't be there where a historical moment for the Korean translation/interpretation will mark a monumental brush stroke. I wish all of you a great week and a big success in each and all respect.
Regards,
YoYo Yong Kim

Dear Colleagues,
Hope all of you are doing well…
We have recently confirmed with the ATA headquarters that we now
have a critical mass of Active Members within the Korean language
group that is needed for the Division Petition signatures – 21 and
counting! Thus, it's time to get our Division Committee mobilized!
It's been a while since our KSIG meeting at the Annual Conference in
Seattle, so here is the list of 9 members who had volunteered to
work on the Division Committee then:
Ji lee, Paul Yi, Susan Kim, Yoyo Kim, Peter Yoon, Don Shin, Bell
Anderson, Jung-hee Tse, & Hojung Carol Choi.
Mary David graciously offered to walk volunteers through what needs
to be done to get the Division status established and answer any
questions during a conference call with the Division Committee
volunteers to get things going. The first time spot we are looking
at is this Friday afternoon 6 pm (ET) / 3 pm (PST). Let us know of
your availabilities. Mary should be getting back to those who are
interested with the conference call-in instructions.
We could have another conference call at a later date for those who
can't make it this Friday.
The conference call will mainly focus on the Division tasks. Mary
will explain more in detail, but the first item that needs to be
addressed right away is: • to have volunteers working on the
Division Bylaws – with a sample Bylaws provided by the headquarters
& customize it for the Korean Division (time frame will be further
discussed during the call.)
Then we would need volunteers to:
• post the Bylaws on the listserv for feedback
• post the petition (along with the finalized Bylaws) for Active
members to sign
• contact & ask Active members for their approvals & signatures on
the petition forms etc. There may be more tasks that come up, & if
you think of anything else, please let the Div. Cmte know.
Even if you had not volunteered to be on the Div Cmte, either
because you were not interested then or you were not at the KSIG
meeting, anyone who would like to participate in the process is more
than welcome to join the call.
I will be traveling overseas the next two weeks (9/18-9/29) and have
asked Jisu to step in & assist Ji during that time. I will look
forward to touching base with you all again in October.
Sincerely,
Vania (& Ji)
