I recommend that everyone should share bad experience with company,
and I think it is O.K. to share bad experience with company if it is
based on true facts. As I have sent one "Fraud Warning" on December
of 2005, I have indicated Elrom/JCS Group in New York for a project I
have completed with many Korean translators. By the way, the project
was translation of movie subtitle. They have promised $50.00 per
hour for the project, but they only paid me $50.00 per project. I
had to spend about 8 hours on one project. I have gained valuable
experience from this company that I would set a guideline to accept
translation project, which is over $1,000.00, only if a contractor
would sign an agreement in advance. It is also very important for
the international transactions. Since I translate Japanese and
German too, I have received project request from England and China
also. I have the following examples of spam messages for translation
request, so that you should not waste your valuable time:

For example 1, the project manager sent me a sample translation for
him to approve. Therefore, I called to his cell phone and asked him
if he would sign a contract for a payment term. He promised me that
he would reply me by e-mail, but he did not.

The example 2 sent me a prior message indicating that he would pay
me $5,000 in advance and return back the overpayment, and I could
find out that it was a scam.

I think it is wise to receive a deposit to start a project also if
it deems to be an international transaction. That way you know if
they are serious about the project or not.

I wish that my examples would save your time and money to succeed
as a prosperous translator.

Sincerely,

Kipyo Han
