Not right.

4 items are gone,- Unitor N, Export, 1 Combiner and one of the
Midi-Mergers,- but one buyer canceled a deal this weekend because lack
of money.
Unfortunally, I reserved 2 items for him ´til 13th of nov. ...
He´ll ask again, but I decided to announce the sales again.

I have some better pics of some of the items now, especially the
software packs.
I haven´t tried ebay up to now,- I´d like to avoid auctions at all.

I´m not in a hurry with these sales,- it´s not big money per item,- you
know.

I don´t want to get rid of all my Atari stuff,- even if I sell all items
on the list, I stay w/ a fully functional Atari-Midi retro-studio
running NotatorSL, Notator Logic, Polyframe, all the Synthworks prgs,
Cubase and all the related hardware needed.

It just only doesn´t make sense to keep the items on the list in my
rooms,- I don´t use ´em.

It's a Polish page, but there are pictures. :)

It's an audicard that allows for harddisk recording on a Mega ST
(using the Mega bus). Don't let the 'tt030' in the url fool you. :) I
don't think there are vme/acsi versions,

The DX7/TX7 manual is from this link and for many other Yamaha made musical
instruments. It's straight catagory to search from there.

Yes, the DX7/TX7 manual is free for download from the Yamaha document
library. You might have to sign-up with an email address, but that's it.

Maybe you can reuse some code or learn how to do it out of this project:

Yamaha DX7 modeling DSSI plugin:

You have to take a good look at the DX7 SysEx documentation.
There are 2 different parameter tables. One covers the 128 byte per patch
format that is used for dumping the complete patchmemory. ( I think it is
called "VMEM" ) the other describes the 155 parameters for the single
voice edit bufferr. ( I think that one is called "VCED" )

Now you have to write a smart function that puts the single parameters
from VCED in the corresponding locations in VMEM. Sometimes 2, 3, or more
VCED parameters will fit into a single VMEM byte. This requires operations
at binary bit level. Advanced stuff. I remember I had to write something
like that when I developed my YSEDITOR for Yamaha 4-op FM synths.

For DX7II things are even a bit more complicated. This has an additional
table for the new edit parameters (ACED) because the new parameters did
not fit in those 155 bytes. But in the 128 byte VMEM table there were
still some unused bits where the new parameters could fit in without
changing the banksize.

In what language are writing ? C or GfaBasic or other ?
I might be able to help. I must have the DX7 sysex tables somewhere.
I'll take a look.

anybody know how the 32 banks of a sys ex from the yamaha dx7 can be
individual made into a single patch dump ...
  the encoding is difficult ,,,,

so if there are 4096 bytes in a full 32 bank dump
excluding the header and a eox

how do i convert 128 bytes for each patch ,
into the 155 required for a single patch dump ..

i'm obviously making my own sysex patch edit for atari and yamaha dx

having quite the time at it too!

Hi folks,

I recently uploaded Car Lights a new photo essay on Flickr -- it can
be seen at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/22231918@N06/sets/72157622805556082/

I'm also working up some video/animation material based on these and
similar images. If any composers or improvisors out there would be
interested in creating a 5 - 8 minute piece for such a video, please
get in touch

Further notes on the photo essay are below. Thanks for looking.

I've always been fascinated by the photographic possibilities
inherent in reflections, transmitted light, and refracted light. I've
been taking a lot of photos recently of closeups of car headlights
and taillights, which combine all three.

Car Lights consists of a sequence of these pictures, with the
original photos interspersed with images treated with various
Photoshop filters.

The 'Doctor' in Doctor T comes from my Ph. D. in physics. A friend of
mine used to say that I took 'physicist's pictures'. I don't think
about the physics when I take images like these, but they can
reasonably be described as physicist's pictures'.

That's only 1/2 of a workable theory. That makes the SMPTEmate auction a
control group. No you need evidence from an experimental group.

Can you demonstrate with the same empiracle evidenence that other auctions did
infact increase in 200%? If you can back it up with facts, you might actually
be on to something.

But to make it really solid, you would need two identical auctions. One
advetised, the other not. There might be more demand for a copy of Cubase with
a dongle than a hardware SMPTEmate timecode generator.

You have to consider all of the outside correlates.

It is a doubled edged sword. I guess there is more than one way to look at this.
You can either compete in an auction for this stuff, or pay a dealer $499.00 for
a used Mega ST2 after the dealer buys it for $50.00.

Personally, I don't like the mark-up that dealers charge. I would rather see
people buy this stuff.

Also, that SMPTEmate went for $28.00 and the next closest bid was $25.00. That
is not exactly a 200% increase.

I'm sure glad I'm not bidding on any of this stuff, because every time
somebody posts eBay links to this list, the end price goes up by 200%.

I guess that would be a good thing if I was one of the *sellers* of these
items... ;)

Congrats to whomever got that SMPTEmate package last week, btw...

Hey Folks, here is the result of my Sunday coffee browsing of ebay. Great stuff
for the Atari Musician. Especially note the steinberg midex / cubase v 3 for
the Atari.

Hi all,a massive thank you to everyone who replied to my original post. After
reading all of the replies I thought I would try the simplest one first, even
though at the time I read them I thought it would not make any difference
whatsoever......how wrong I was.....lol
Anyway,basically I downloaded TOS2.06uk rom and seltos,put it on a floppy and
Bob was my uncle! So much better, hardly an adjustment needed....I`m losing 300k
from Cubase so I will be sticking to my v3.02 but thats a small price to pay for
a great display!
Actually why does the TOS2.06 seem to provide a better display? Jason

I use v6.01 religously. I have an official Barefoot v7.10 floppy, but I just
never use it. I did not know until now that there is a v7.01 version. How is
v7.01 different from v7.10? Is the interface arranged like v6 and earlier, or
is it arranged like v7.10?

Definitely helpful!

Already by briefly glancing through I discovered two features I hadn't known:
1) How to exclude more than one MIDI channel from Global Transpose (I had been
wondering about this one though I didn't really need it yet), and
2) that under certain cirumstances there's no need to assign a drive letter to
the Auto Inject file path (for GenPatch files).

I bet there are quite a few more surprises for me to come.

I'm using v7.01 on the Atari since that version is very stable and reliable. It
rarely crashes as opposed to later versions with which I had some surprises.
Though it misses some very handy features of the later versions. In Steem I have
v7.10 (don't recall why, maybe that's the only fully libed version).

:^) Greg
