Hello Athens Alt Fuel,

We should have known it wouldn't be that easy.  Last night we got a leak in the reactor at the temperature gauge, where I had stripped the screw and tried to seal it with a bunch of silicone sealant.  After a few hours of circulating the vegetable oil, the oil got right through the silicone sealant and i would hate to think what methoxide would have done to it.  It would have been like a methoxide water fountain (which would burn your lips off). 

 

Going back to Autozone tonight for a replacement temp gauge, installing it tonight, and we are good to go this Saturday, July 1, at high noon.  Come on over to my place then if you want to witness the magic of transesterification.
