Job Description:

Job Description: The Lead Data Architect will re-engineer and maintain the
client's enterprise wide view of the data. This individual will analyze
information requirements specified by the user community and design the
required data structures to support those requirements.

Major Position Responsibilities:

• Will review all current operational data structures and recommend
optimizations and reconfigurations as warranted.
• Develop and maintain all standards pursuant to data structures and models.
• Work with clients, business analysts, technical staff, and project team
members to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance applications,
scripts, procedures, and metadata for relational databases.
• Work with Database Administrators to migrate complex large scale
applications into system test and production environments.
• Work closely with 3rd party vendors to integrate selected packages.
• Recommend and evaluate new tools and methodologies.
• Will provide full-life cycle architectural guidance and ensure quality
technical deliverables.
• Will serve as the data technical strategy expert and will lead the
creation of all technical requirements and design deliverables.
• Develop schemas for all business applications.

Required Skills: • Eight (8) or more years of experience as a Data Architect
in an RDMS, MDDBs environment
• Four (4) or more years of experience as a Data Warehouse data architect
• Solid, quantifiable experience in:
o Metadata standards
o Data modeling
§ ERD
§ Dimensional
o Use of modeling tools
§ ERWin
§ Oracle
§ Rational Rose
o SQL/PL/SQL
o Participation in at least three (3) large Enterprise Data Warehouse
projects in the role of Lead Data Architect
o Oracle and MS SQL
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in XML standards and Education data transfer standards
• Experience in Web based Architecture

Minimum Years of experience needed for required skills: see above
Preferred Skills: • Experience in Middleware Technologies EAI and ETL tools
• Experience in Student Information Systems
• Previous JAD experience
• Experience in OLAP tools
