RE: [audible] AAA Battery Player?

Creative currently isn't making any players that use replacable batteries. I
wish they were.

You can find out on Audible's site which players play Audible files and you can
find out on Overdrive's site which play their files. But most don't. No Coby
players do. Trekstor has one model that plays Audible files but they make a lot
of models so the one J&R has probably isn't one of those. Impeca and Jwin won't
play Audible. I've had one Jwin player and it was very cheap and barely worth
that.

I have a Coby player that's kind of interesting but won't play Audible files.

Most players, even the ones that do play Audible files, are fairly useless for
MP3 audiobooks, lacking features such as resume and accellerated fast forward
and rewind.

You might take a look at the Rio Forge at:
http://system.s2gstore.com/site/RioAudio/RIO-28260105R.htm

This is only 128 meg but it's $30 and it will take a 2 gig SD card that costs
less than $10 and can be found for less than $5 if you shop carefully. That
means for $40 you get a 2 gb audiobook player that plays everything and is one
of the best audiobook players ever made. This is a refurbished player. They no
longer make new ones. They use a single AAA battery and get about 18 hours from
it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm pretty sure my friend will be getting a Rio Forge. I do have one question: what do you mean by "accessable" in your first...

I have to agree with Barry about the Rio Forge being the best player I've ever tried for audio books. I have tried a sansa and an Ipod and still use my Forge...
