New member here....

I thought I'd say hello and introduce myself a little.

I just got my Audity a couple of days ago...what a cool synth.

This is not my first experience with the Audity though. When it first
came out, my music partner bought one. It was the perfect synth for
his approach to composition and sound design. He let me borrow it for
another project for which it really added to the song I produced. If
anyone is interested, I'd like to post the song to the Files section
so you can hear the Audity in action in a context you probably
wouldn't think it would be used.

Anyway, I've wanted one of these ever since but couldn't justify the
expense back then. I told myself, when I could, I would. I found the
one I have on Ebay for $199 including shipping. It has the 2.0
software but no Xtreme expansion.

In general, I've not been a fan of E-MU synths. Beside the Audity, the
only other E-MU synth I was excited about was the original Proteus,
and that was back in 1989!

Generally, I find the E-MU sound to be a bit dull. Clean and solid,
but dull. I find the Roland synths (I have an expanded JV1080) to be
far more "exciting" sounding than all other brands, including the Audity.

But the Audity is special. I find the rhythmic approach to its
programming refreshing and the sample set more unique than any other
S&S type to date.

The Audity is not my only E-Mu product. I still have an ESI-32, which
I barely use. It has the same sound (clean and dull), and pretty much
the same architecture as the Audity minus several filter types!

I was disappointed to find something that is common to both the Audity
and ESI sampler: the resonance is not sweepable in realtime. Sure, it
can be changed with the front panel knobs but in order to hear the
result, the note must be retriggered. On the ESI, it's called Note On
Q, which seems to be the same on the Audity. Please correct me if I'm
wrong - I just do not hear it sweep as my other synths do - while a
note is being played.

Also - anyone have any idea where to find the 2.1 software?
Considering the Audity's age, might anyone have a copy of this file
they could post? Anyone?

Thanks for your time,

Ed

... Yes, please upload your stuff. BTW, if anyone could upload factory demos (just Audity 2000, with no external FX/sequencing) to the files section, it's much...
