I thought atmel studio used the gcc compiler anyway (or atmels version of it).   Winavr is just a windows installable collection of the GCC toolset for atmel

As a Atmel beginner, which route should I go. Should I go with Atmel Studio or go the gcc route with winavr? Appreciate your opinions?
