Lindsay,

Check Bayer Shrub & Tree, the root drench, not the spray. The active
ingredient is imidicloprid, which is dynamite for scale. Most sprays
on the market today knock scale back for 3-4 weeks, but won''t knock it
out, and they will be back. This root drench product treats the plant
for the entire season. I've had good luck with it, but it is
expensive. Check label for safety, etc.

I have had good success with Horticultural Oil. It is inexpensive and gets other sucking insects as well but is environmentally friendly. I have used it at all...
