Lindsay,
Check Bayer Shrub & Tree, the root drench, not the spray. The active
ingredient is imidicloprid, which is dynamite for scale. Most sprays
on the market today knock scale back for 3-4 weeks, but won''t knock it
out, and they will be back. This root drench product treats the plant
for the entire season. I've had good luck with it, but it is
expensive. Check label for safety, etc.
