Good day to you,
I am a student in history and archaeology (Dacian period) and interested also in
the topic of the Dacian Language. I would like to ask if you can help me with
some etymologies regarding some place-names from what is now Western Romania, as
those found in most of the papers are utterly contradicting (it is known fact
that most of the opinions which different linguists have about what was Dacian
Language are largely ireconciliable...).The place-names are:

ZIRIDAVA
ZUROBARA
MARISIA *river
KRISIA *river, (this one i guess is somehow connected to the obscure Romanian
word "crisan" = "a lucky man", but nowhere i found such connection)
PARTISCUM

Also, there are a number of actual toponyms which altough are not mentiond in
ancient times, are considered today as Sarmatian heritage, especially those with
-and termination, like ZARAND, CARAND, etc.

with friendship and respect,
Alexandru B
