Matthew McCullough to Speak on Dividing and Conquering Hadoop at GIDS 2010
Great Indian Developer Summit 2010 – Gold Standard for India's Software
Developer Ecosystem

Bangalore, January 04, 2010: Moore's law has finally hit the wall and CPU speeds
have actually decreased in the last few years. The industry is reacting with
hardware with more cores and software that can leverage "grids" of distributed
computing resources. Hadoop is a suite of Open Source APIs at the forefront of
this revolution and is considered the gold standard for the divide-and-conquer
model of problem crunching. In Matthew's talk at Great Indian Developer Summit
2010 (http://www.developersummit.com) on April 21, you'll learn how to use the
well-travelled Apache Hadoop framework, leveraged by prominent names such as
Yahoo, Amazon, Adobe, AOL, Facebook, Google and Hulu.

Matthew McCullough is an energetic 12 year veteran of enterprise software
development, open source education, and co-founder of Ambient Ideas, LLC, a
Denver consultancy. Matthew currently is a member of the JCP, reviewer for
technology publishers including O'Reilly, author of the DZone Maven RefCard, and
President of the Denver Open Source Users Group. His experience includes
successful J2EE, SOA, and Web Service implementations for real estate, financial
management, and telecommunications firms, and several published open source
libraries. Matthew jumps at opportunities to evangelize and educate teams on the
benefits of open source. His current focuses are Cloud Computing, Maven, iPhone,
Distributed Version Control and OSS Tools.

Hi All,

We're all getting set for the meetup next weekend on the Saturday the 30th. I've
got quite a few suggestions and one which stood out was a PHP Framework
Shootout. What's good about a framework, what's it suited for, strengths &
weaknesses? For this we need your help.

We need speakers for each of the frameworks and each speaker for the framework
will be given 15 minutes to talk about their framework and why you recommend it.
We need people to speak up for their favorite framework!

Those of you who'd like to talk up for their favorite framework, add your names
and framework choice on this page:
http://www.meetup.com/Bangalore-PHP-Users/pages/Framework_Shootout_Warriors/

If you're not yet part of the PHP Meetup group, join there and let us know if
you will be coming for this meetup. Here are the details for this month's
meetup:

Regards,
Vinu

What Jegan meant was to create the form with the elements. I don't think your
problem was clear to everyone. What's the exact problem you are facing?

I have the code (similar to
http://ezone.futurebazaar.com/Product/Experience+Zone/LCD/Haier+L+32S9+32+inches\
+LCD+TV/2436454)workingfine
for a shopping cart
in the code i have there is only one price option and it is been taken to
shopping cart when we click on addtocart option .

now i need to modify this one so that when i have multiple options(as in
http://www.tarangarts.com/balaji/tanjore-paintings/c-1-p-90.html) and
select a single item in that options provided.

once we check the radio button the price should move to the cart.

Hello All,

Yesterday at the meetup I made the offer to organize a workshop on developing
complex web applications with the Symfony Framework.

This is a poll to see who is interested in such a workshop. Please respond to
this mail so I can make a list of people.

The topics covered are still open, my suggestion would be to either make the
Jobeet application (http://www.jobeet.org,
http://www.symfony-project.org/jobeet/1_4/Doctrine/en/) or develop an actual
project of one of the group members! Other suggestions are of course more than
welcome!

Hope to hear from you, please reply either here or at the Symfony Bangalore
forum: http://www.symfony-bangalore.org/showthread.php?tid=3

Cheers,
  Sjoerd

Hi Sjoerd,

Surely. We are with you. I will be part of this workshop along with one
colleague.

You have selected a nice theme for workshop as "developing complex web
applications with the Symfony Framework" but it would be even better if it
would be "Workshop on developing complex web applications with the Symfony
Framework *for Beginners*"

Jayesh
